Recruiting Reality Check™

An Executive Framework for Stability, Alignment, and Workforce Control.

Most recruiting problems in transportation do not begin with recruiting.

They begin with misalignment.

  • Empty seats.
  • Expectation drift.
  • Early trust breakdowns.
  • Operational friction is absorbed as “just part of the industry.”

Over time, these disconnects compound into measurable instability:

• Increased seat gap percentage
• Margin erosion hidden across departments
• Recruiting pressure that never stabilizes
• Cultural drift between recruiting, operations, and leadership

Recruiting Reality Check™ is not a hiring manual.
It is not a tactical recruiting guide.

It is an executive risk document designed for transportation leaders who want clarity before committing to more activity.

Inside, you will examine:

• The real financial exposure of seat instability
• Why turnover is often accepted as inevitable
• How vendor incentive structures influence recruiting outcomes
• The difference between activity metrics and stability metrics
• The cost of leadership drift and delayed correction
• What executive ownership of seat stability actually requires
• How alignment becomes a measurable competitive advantage

This book assumes something different.

  • It assumes leadership maturity.
  • It assumes intellectual honesty.
  • It assumes a willingness to ask:

“If instability is structural, are we prepared to correct it?”

Before increasing advertising spend, adjusting compensation, or expanding recruiting activity, understand what instability is already costing you.

  • Clarity precedes correction.
  • Alignment precedes growth.

For fleet owners, executives, and transportation leaders who are ready to move from reaction to control.

Sharing My Knowledge; One Book at a Time.

I obtained my bachelor's degree in Management later in life while still in the Military. While there was a lot at that time that I didn’t already know, I did pick up a few areas that even I could improve on. One of those was creating my own personal Manifesto, which I did in 2020 and updated in 2023. I am always willing to share it with anyone because it speaks of who I am, and one of my favorite lines is, KNOWLEDGE may be power, but it does no good if it’s never shared.” The idea is that we force people to reinvent the wheel; why? We could grow so much faster if we shared our knowledge with others, and possibly, they could pick it up from there and move on.

With all my years in the transportation industry, it has been one of my goals to put my knowledge on paper, and because of recent life changes, I was afforded just that opportunity. I currently have over six (6) books available on Amazon and Kindle Direct: Recruiting That Sticks: A Retention-First Framework For Hiring, Performance, and Stability; Recruiting That Sticks Implementation WorkbookTurning Recruiting Insight Into Repeatable Performance; and The Missing Key: Harmonization Within The Transportation Industry.
